Art Groups, Painting and Drawing Classes in Gloucestershire

Relax, have fun and enjoy experimenting with art techniques in a friendly environment. Abbeydale Art Club is suitable for all abilities, whether petrified novice, or proficient artist! All types of painting and drawing media can be catered for. Some materials are provided, although most bring their own to familiarise themselves with their own brushes etc. Sessions begin with a few warm up techniques to loosen up and let creativity flow. Tuition is readily available for those who want it, else you are free to work on your own pieces.

We offer a range of classes, clubs and workshops covering a variety of art and craft disciplines and techniques, fine art and ceramics. Classes are run by graduates of art and design, with varied professional and teaching backgrounds. We cater for both beginners and the more advanced artist. We also offer craft birthday parties for children in our studio.

We believe that artists benefit from the opportunity to paint together and share ideas and skills. That's why we've always had our own studio and painted together in groups. Membership is open to adults of all ages and abilities.

I am Gloucester based wildlife artist with over 20 years teaching experience. I specialise in providing workshops which cover all aspects of painting wildlife in acrylics, to art clubs, groups and societies. The workshops can be tailored to your specific needs or a general workshop designed by me and I can provide materials if required.

Our shop is entirely run by, and filled with the work of Gloucestershire artists and makers. We pride ourselves on our 'localness'! You can visit the shop and the person inside will be one of the makers who may even be working on a piece at the time, so you can ask lots of questions and find out how a craft is done. The centre has a variety of arts, crafts, painting and sewing workshops running throughout the year.

An historic Georgian Mansion situated in the beautiful Gloucestershire countryside that dates back to 1705. It is now an arts centre providing the community with classes, workshops and performances and also offers room hire. Our splendid rooms can be hired for social events and business meetings held in elegant rooms named after the families who once lived here.

The centre for contemporary craft in the Cotswolds, with on-site artists and crafts people and gallery exhibitions held throughout the year. We offers arts and crafts workshops and courses for children and adults; creative workshops for schools and colleges. I am a professional tutor with extensive experience in secondary and further education and a practising artist and sculptor. I run a taught course which guides the complete beginner through a variety of basic techniques whilst allowing the more experienced artist the opportunity to work in much more depth on skills they want to improve upon. I will encourage you to develop your own style and interests. You are welcome to join at any point during the year.

Tewkesbury Art Society is a long established, friendly and supportive group for artists of all ages and abilities. We welcome everyone from beginners to those who paint regularly for fun and enjoyment to semi professional artists. We have a varied programme which includes own painting sessions, demonstrations, workshops, plein air in the summer. There are two exhibitions a year, one in Winter, one in Summer. The Cheltenham School of Fine Art is a small independently run school in the Lansdown area of Cheltenham. We offer day, evening and weekend courses in Fine Art: including drawing, painting, watercolour, life drawing and sculpture. Our classes cater to all levels and beginners are very welcome. We offer a range of three day summer schools throughout July and August including Children's art club summer school.
