Lawn green bowling and short mat bowls clubs in Gloucestershire. Men's, ladies and mixed bowling leagues, as well as friendly games for the less competitive. Clubs offer a number of social activities throughout the year.
We are primarily a lawn green bowling club, but also offer short mat bowls in the clubhouse and a social programme for our members. The Club was founded in 1999 and the Green and Clubhouse were opened in 2005. The Club is affiliated to the GBA, GWBA and EBA.
Churchdown is a mixed bowling club with men's, ladies and mixed fixtures, we also have a very active seniors section. The bowls club is a section of the main Churchdown Club which has a large bar and lounge facility, tennis courts, dance floor, skittle allies and snooker room. The club is in the fortunate position of being able to offer ample free parking adjacent to the green, even for coaches. We are always happy to accommodate touring clubs to the area whenever possible.
We have an extensive programme of men's, ladies and mixed friendly matches against other Clubs, as well as many Club competitions. The Club enters teams in several National and Gloucestershire County Competitions and Leagues. We are one of the larger Clubs in Gloucestershire with a current playing membership of 75 men, 37 ladies and 10 juniors, together with a further 46 social (non-playing) members. In addition to the summer outdoor bowls season we have an indoor Bowls section which meets in the Club House every afternoon during the Winter months.
