The Society was formed in 1975 to promote and encourage the growing, knowledge and education in the culture of orchids.We are a very friendly Society and if you've got 1 or 100 orchids, or would like to know more before buying your first plant, why not join us? The premier cycling club in Cheltenham and the surrounding Gloucestershire area, with over 250 members we welcome and cater for all cyclists, male, female, young or old, who are interested in road, mountain bike, timetrialling, cyclo cross or downhill. For road riders, we organise regular Club Runs all year round. During winter months (November-March), we also organise the areas very popular winter training rides. On the racing side we run a popular club time trials series as well as Open Time Trials.

The aim of Cheltenham and District Riding Club is to promote the standard of good riding and horsemanship under the rules of the British Riding Clubs movement. To offer to its members: training, competitions, demonstrations and social gatherings in a friendly and welcoming atmosphere and at affordable prices.

We believe that artists benefit from the opportunity to paint together and share ideas and skills. That's why we've always had our own studio and painted together in groups. Membership is open to adults of all ages and abilities.

For anyone interested in birdwatching, whether they are a beginner or a more experienced observer, the Club runs a programme of weekly talks during the winter months and has regular local and further afield birdwatching trips throughout the year. The Club also has a newsletter, weekly updates on all things ornithological, takes part in bird recording and organises social events.

The Club has over 500 members and is affiliated to the English Bridge Union (EBU). To join the club a prospective member must attend three sessions as a visitor. He/she will then need to be proposed by someone who has been a member of the club for more than one year and seconded by a member of the committee.

Cheltenham Camera Club meets every Thursday evening from September to May. On most evenings a lecture is given by a distinguished photographer, often of national standard, in which they present their work with a helpful commentary. On occasions these lectures are of a more practical nature covering such subjects as lighting, printing and various photographic processes. Social events held.

Cheltenham Civil Service Rugby Football Club (CCSRFC) is an affiliated member of the Cheltenham Area Civil Service Sports Association (CACSSA), and as such has a large number of members that are Civil Servants. However, CCSRFC is an "open" club and membership is open to anybody! CCSRFC currently run one senior womens team, three senior mens team and an occasional Vets team.

This club provides for teams of 12 players to play skittles (nine pins). We are part of the Cheltenham Area Civil Service Sports Association (CACSSA). The Winter League, our main competition, usually starts in September and continues to about the following Easter. Teams of 12 players play once nearly every week. Also knock-out competitions and Summer League.

We offer the opportunity to ride in company and explore some of the less well known parts of our area. A choice of rides to suit all levels of ability, which take place on Sundays, Tuesday and Thursday mornings and Thursday evenings. Other activities include Youth Hostel weekends and UK and foreign tours. Social programme from October to March.

Tai Chi is an art - it is something you can practice and improve for the whole of your life.

We field five men's and three women's teams, and are a dynamic and friendly club with fantastic playing facilities that are located next to our very own social club. We welcome new players of all abilities. We run a successful junior hockey academy for girls and boys between Under 14's and Under 16's which trains at Cheltenham College.

Whatever your level of interest, knowledge or experience we have something for you. Monthly meetings, talks, demonstrations, two flower and craft shows a year, discounts at local nurseries.

The club meets on Monday evenings from 8pm to 10pm. A range of equipment is available - beginners welcome.

The centre is home to a 25 metre swimming pool, six-court sports hall, two fully-equipped air-conditioned fitness suites, squash and all weather tennis courts. Membership required.
